Go Workshop. Part #1

Workshop conducted by: Stefan Wrocławski, Przemysław Dyszczyk, Katarzyna Mazurek, Przemysław Włodarski

Workshop in Go, the famous Chinese board game - conducted by the members of the polish go association: Stefan Wrocławski, Przemysław Dyszczyk, Katarzyna Mazurek, Przemysław Włodarski - will take place in The KNOT at Pole Mokotowskie on Friday 18 June 2010 (beginning at 15:00 hours) and on Sunday 20 June 2010 (beginning at 13:00 hours).

Go is an ancient, oriental strategic game. In the Far East it enjoys a significantly higher status than chess or bridge in European culture. Even though it has very simple rules, which even a child can master in 15 minutes, it is the most complicated strategic game in the world, with combinations that outnumber the amount of atoms in the universe!

The game involves putting black and white pawns, called stones, in turns to surround the largest possible area on a square board. Once put, stone cannot change its position, but it can be removed from the board in specific situations.

The workshop is aimed at introducing a large audience to rules of the game as well as presenting its rich culture and history. Every beginner is encouraged to practice on a daily basis, supervised by experienced players, in order to face other players in a final mini-tournament with attractive prizes. More advanced players are invited to participate in lectures given by one of the best Polish go-ists of now, Marek “Kamyk” Kamiński 3 dan. The workshop welcomes everyone from the age of 4, children, youth, adults and the elderly.

Maybe it’s go that will become your hobby, philosophy and lifestyle?
